white-board or Powerpoint ?

when students sleep... it is sometimes becos i am teaching in a very boring style...after so many years, i admit that most of the time, i prefer to use the whiteboard. my reason is this: whiteboard has advantages like being able to retain the first part of the lecture while goin on to the second part. unlike power point, the slides keep going... when you reach the sixth slide, the first five slides are gone , you can't point and refer to them except to page up. switching between slides is confusing to me. Walking along the white board from left to right of thw whiteboard and linking all the points learned seems more logical to me. so! for the past 10 years, my style is notes (with blanks) for students and teacher explain with whiteboard! But i think i am classified as DINASAUR teacher, stone-age, as i see many teachers hugging a cute laptop , walking from class to class. I agree that Videos, Animations and Pictures are best shown on Laptop powerpoint. I am confused. really. should i try to introduce more Powerpoint lessons? i am trying to make one tomorrow on the topic : Energy. Physics is damm hard to understand at times; i am trying to find the best way to teach. a bit weird hor, after 10 years still finding.... but i guess humour is the most important. some pupils hate it when i start telling stories... ha ha ... but when i was a pupil, i enjoyed stories and ad-hoc discussion with teachers ... "was Li Ning cool, when he fly with the Olympic torch on 08082008? . . . ." being a teacher is very tiring, worry how to teach well, worry students dont study....ha ha . soon 4E1,4E2,4F will be taking the O level. i am anxious too. silly right.
